Terms and Conditions

This competition is run by ecoPortal, in partnership with One Percent Safer.

It’s open to ecoPortal customers who are attending ePIC.

Your submission should share an idea for making the world just a little safer (One Percent Safer). It could be a concept, an innovation, or even a simple practice that’s made a difference in your work or life.

The best idea will be featured in a book that includes 100 ideas for a safer world, each with its own chapter.

The winner will be chosen through merit by the One Percent Safer team, not through a random draw.

The winner will be announced at ePIC on 9 October.

Submissions must be made via the specific form linked on the ePIC webpage.

Submissions can be in writing or video format.

Deadline date: Friday, 26 September.

People can enter if they cannot accept the travel/conference prize, and still be in the running to be included in the book.

The total prize is valued at up to $10K NZD, with flights and accommodation accounting for under $8K.

The prize winner will liaise with Kim Ellis (Events Manager) from ecoPortal, who will book the travel and accommodation details. 

Flights will be booked from the winner's home town airport.

Prize winner must have a valid passport. It’s the winner’s responsibility to arrange and sort any visas required. 

Conference and travel prize winner must commit to attending the EHS Congress in London on 28-29 October.

Accommodation will be provided for 4 nights at a hotel near the conference venue.

Exclusions: insurance, passport and visa fees, upgrades, taxes and surcharges, spending money and on-the-ground transport expenses are not included.

Any changes to airfares, once booked, will be at the expense of the prize winner. 

The prize is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. The prize cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for money or any other goods or services.

The winner will agree to have their name and photo used for promotional purposes.

ecoPortal and One Percent Safer are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered in connection with the prize, except where caused by their direct negligence.

ecoPortal and One Percent Safer reserve the right to substitute the prize, or any part of it, with an alternative of equal or greater value if it becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the promoter's control.

ecoPortal and One Percent Safer are not liable for any failure to perform or for any delay in performance of its obligations under the terms and conditions if such failure or delay is due to events beyond its reasonable control. These events include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, acts of war, terrorism, pandemics, strikes, civil unrest, and government actions.

By entering this competition, you agree that your personal information will be collected and used for the purposes of administering the competition, contacting the winner, and for marketing communications related to this promotion. Your information will be stored securely and handled in accordance with all applicable privacy laws.
